Xbug Boundary scan is a very useful tool for development engineers who need to efficiently debug designs before releasing them to manufacturing. It can be used to generate test vectors to prove either valid interconnects exist between components when debugging new designs. The concept of "bit banging" allows designers to use boundary scan to selectively drive test points into alternating states in offer to verify interconnect integrity.
